Mineralogically a calcium magnesium silicate with a uniquely dense fibrous matrix, it is described in tradition as a stone that cools racing thought and stabilizes scattered emotion. I source the Hetian jade through verified Chinese dealers who specialize in Xinjiang nephrite — most "white jade" sold online is actually bleached quartzite, dyed serpentine, or treated B-grade jadeite. None of mine is. The Nepali banana silk is hand-spun in Kathmandu, and the hemp core is undyed natural fiber. If a material cannot meet our provenance standard, I do not use it.
