What to check in a future ring
Finger size changes with temperature and time of day. Measure the intended finger more than once, record the circumference, and check the knuckle before choosing a fixed or adjustable band.
How to measure
- Wrap a narrow paper strip or soft tape around the base of the intended finger, snug without compressing the skin.
- Mark the overlap, lay the strip flat, and measure that length in centimeters. This is the finger circumference.
- Repeat at another time of day and make sure the measured size also clears the knuckle.
Adjustable does not mean universal. Repeatedly bending a band can weaken it, and a tall raw stone needs extra clearance in daily wear.
