The Devotion #07 is a hand-strung 108-bead mala built around 8mm natural freshwater pearl heishi with sourced amber, lace agate, and a Hetian white jade tassel — the classic mantra-counting tool Hindu and Buddhist traditions have used for over two thousand five hundred years. Engineered for daily japa practice: settle the body, count the mantra one bead at a time, and let the lunar cool of natural pearl draw stagnant emotion out of the heart, finished with a yak bone and lace agate guru.
01 · Fit Who is The Devotion #07 made for?
Built for daily mantra practitioners — Hindu, Buddhist, or contemplative — who want a real working mala instead of a decorative one.
People in a season of quieting the heart through repetition. I knot these for the wearer who counts mantras as part of an actual practice — not as aesthetic. The 8mm pearl heishi sits comfortably between the thumb and forefinger for thousands of repetitions without fatigue, and the Hetian jade tassel marks the guru bead so you know without looking when you have completed a full round of 108. Worn as a long necklace between sittings, it carries the practice into the day.
02 · Activation How do I use The Devotion #07 in japa meditation?
Hold the mala in your right hand, draped over the middle finger. Use the thumb to draw each pearl toward you while reciting your mantra.
At the guru bead, pause — do not cross it. Reverse direction. Traditional japa method: rest the mala over the middle finger of the right hand and draw each bead toward you with the thumb, reciting the mantra once per bead. Begin at the bead next to the guru (the larger marker bead) and count 108. When you reach the guru bead, pause and turn the mala around — never cross it — and continue if doing additional rounds. Cleanse with sage smoke after intensive sessions.
03 · Energy Why pearl, amber, and Hetian jade together?
Pearl is the lunar emotional cooler. Amber is fossilized solar resin for warm clarity. Hetian jade is the Chinese heart-vitality stone.
Together they form a complete cool-warm-anchor frequency for sustained practice. Natural freshwater pearl is a calcium carbonate biomineral traditionally linked to the moon and the heart-emotional water element — used in mala practice for its cooling, receptive frequency. Amber is fossilized tree resin (organic, not mineral) that carries the warmth of ancient sun. Hetian white jade is nephrite from Xinjiang, prized in Chinese tradition for cellular vitality and longevity. The three together form a balanced trinity: cool the emotion, warm the channel, anchor the heart.
04 · Sourcing Are the pearls and stones natural? How do you source them?
Every bead is honest-labeled — natural Chinese freshwater pearls, sourced Baltic amber, natural lace agate, and authentic Hetian nephrite jade.
Never glass pearl imitation, never plastic resin "amber." I source the freshwater pearls through verified Chinese pearl farms specializing in cultured-natural heishi cuts — never glass-coated imitation. The amber comes from Baltic dealers; much of what is sold as "amber" online is plastic resin or copal (immature amber). None of mine is. The Hetian jade is verified Xinjiang nephrite, the lace agate is natural banded chalcedony, and the yak bone guru is traditionally sourced from Nepali ritual artisans. If a material cannot meet our provenance standard, I do not use it.
05 · Legal Is there a California Proposition 65 notice for this piece?

The lead is bound within turquoise's phosphate crystalline structure and is not surface-bioavailable under normal wear. California Proposition 65 requires this notice for any product that may expose consumers to listed chemicals, even at levels well below federal safety limits. Pregnant or nursing wearers, or anyone with known sensitivities, may prefer a turquoise-free piece from the collection. Full notice and mineralogical context →
