Matching Editions — Questions
How do I measure my pet's neck for the collar?
After checkout we email you for the measurement — no need to figure it out before ordering. Use a soft fabric tape measure, place it where a collar would naturally sit (above the shoulders, below the jawline), and leave two fingers of room for comfort. If you don't have a fabric tape, use a string and then measure the string against a ruler. For cats and small dogs: typically 7–12 inches. Medium dogs: 13–18 inches. Tell us your pet's species and breed in the email — we'll confirm the right fit.
Is it safe for pets with skin sensitivities?
Yes in most cases. Our cord is plant-dyed cotton or hemp — no synthetic dyes, no chrome tanning, no metal clasps touching skin. The stones used are all natural and non-toxic when worn externally. That said, if your pet has a history of reactions to natural fibers or specific minerals, test the collar on a small patch of fur for 24 hours before full wear. Remove during grooming and rough play so the stones don't get ingested during chewing.
Can I order just the pet collar without the bracelet?
No. The Matching Edition collar is available only with an eligible owner talisman in the same order. The pair is the product: one bond translated into two scales. We do not position this talisman collar as a standalone pet accessory.
What if my pet is a cat — do they actually tolerate collars?
Some cats do, some don't. Our collars are lighter than most store-bought pet collars (no metal buckle, no tags), which helps. For cats who dislike collars, consider the bracelet + an optional small stone charm for the cat's existing collar or bed — the energetic bond is in the stones, not strictly in the wearing. Outdoor cats: we recommend a breakaway safety collar from a pet supplier for daily wear, and the Soul Bond collar for indoor or supervised moments only.
What happens if the pet chews through the collar?
It happens, especially with puppies and high-energy dogs. The hand-knotted cord is designed to be sturdy but not indestructible — a determined chewer will get through eventually. If the collar arrives with a structural issue or breaks within 14 days of delivery, contact us and we'll make a replacement. Beyond that window, reach out anyway — we may be able to repair or reknot it at cost. The energetic bond is in the stones themselves, so even a damaged collar can often be saved by restringing.
